The original Sun Glo patio heater was designed in 1961 by Edwin J. Cowan, a leading U.S. infrared heating appliance engineer. A unique demand existed in California for decorative and practical gas fired heaters. Mr. Cowan developed the circular radiant heater primarily for use in restaurants, hotels and country clubs. Since that time the basic design has been modified for a wide variety of uses. The Sun Glo outdoor patio heater is now a welcome feature at popular resorts, hotels, restaurants, cafes, swimming pools, spas, and ski lodges.
